Today we’re going to tell you how to send a fake or different location in WhatsApp, no doubt a trick for WhatsApp that can save you from some troublesome situation, or that can be worth spending some heavy joke, especially if you make someone create someone who is in a fake place to go looking for you.
In this tutorial we will use WhatsApp screenshots for Android, but it is applicable to other platforms such as Windows 10 Mobile, iOS or even the indestructible Nokia Asha, as the way to send a fake location does not vary much from one mobile platform to another.
How to Submit a Fake Location in WhatsApp
The best thing about this “trick”, to call it in some way, is that we can do it without third-party applications or root, so if you follow the steps below you will see that sending a fake location in WhatsApp is really easy.
Steps to Submit a Fake Location in WhatsApp
- We click on Share Location in any chat, so we will see the map with our current location, as well as other “hot spots” near us that we could share.
- Click on the icon to put the map in full screen, we find it in the upper left, and we will see how a new red icon appears that shows the current position we want to share.
- Now we just have to take the red position icon to wherever we want, click on the map and move it, I have taken it to New York.
- Finally, click on the red position icon and click on the “Send this location” option that appears. This way we’ve sent the location we wanted.
Detect if the WhatsApp location is false
If you’ve noticed that it’s not really a fake location in WhatsApp, we’re simply sending a location, but we make it look like it’s our current location, especially if you ask us to, creating some confusion.
To find out if the position they send us is the current location of our contact or a “false location”, we simply have to note that underneath the location they send us there is no link, because if a link appears it is not their current location. When you send us the current location in WhatsApp, no link appears.
